Margiela & Denim Deconstruction Fashion Illustrations

These illustrations were developed through studying the work of Maison Martin Margiela, and using deconstruction with denim, photochromic fabric dyes, and research on the construction of vintage clothing to inspire design. The illustrations are on glass with interchangeable fabric backing for a personalized and changeable effect.

Process sketches created through draping deconstructed blue jeans on a dress form and studying details of vintage clothing construction.

Textiles developed using photochromic (llight-sensitive) dyes to promote the concept of personalized clothing through pre-dyed garments readyf or exposure.

The following illustrations are ink and acylic on glass, with dyed fabric samples showing through in different areas.
